I worked closely with the Colorescience R&D team to develop a component that delivered their new eye serum. While the formula itself addressed skin concerns, the brief requested the additional benefit of depuffing the sensitive undereye area during application. Having researched, sourced, and tested numerous materials—including multiple ceramic solutions—I recommended this Zamac tipped pump. The combination of zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloys provide a consistent cooling sensation, without the need for refrigeration. The rest of the solution was designed around the applicator in partnership with a German component vendor, with whom stability testing for the new formula and it’s pilot applicator were critical regulatory pieces before bringing to market.
